The Nevada Department of Education (NDE) has recognized Luet Lobsien, a senior at Carson High School (CHS), with an award for designing the logo that will brand the NDE’s “Learning for the Future” education conference. The contest was open to all K-12 students with more than 200 student entries from across Nevada.

Luet was recognized for his artistic talents in a casual award presentation in Mrs. Patricia Ababio’s graphic design class Friday, Aug. 25. In addition to winning the logo contest, Luet was also given an Amazon gift card, a certificate of appreciation and a framed version of his award-winning design.

The inaugural “Learning for the Future” conference will be held Dec. 2, in Las Vegas. The focus of the conference will be on essential skills and knowledge necessary for future success in an ever-changing and evolving world, including computer science, technology, financial literacy and civic engagement. Luet’s logo will be used on all conference materials, including promotional items, signage and swag.
