Carson City Sheriff's Office: Unsubstantiated Threats to Carson High School

On Monday evening at 10:29 p.m., the Carson City Sheriff’s Office began receiving the first of numerous information tips from social media platforms of a threat to Carson High School. The alleged threats suggested that a violent event would take place on Wednesday, December 13th. Sheriff Ken Furlong immediately informed Carson City Schools Superintendent Andrew Feuling of the allegations, who in turn notified school administrators.   READ MORE...

In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month this past October, Carson High School (CHS) Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) cadets sold pink aiguillettes to wear on their uniforms with all proceeds donated to the Carson Tahoe Health Cancer Resource Center. Pioneer Academy’s Student of the Month for November is Kaitlyn Nguyen. Kaitlyn’s life experience has taught her hard work, dedication and determination to do her best can help her find success wherever she looks. Kaitlyn was eight years old when she enrolled in school in Carson City. She joined the Pioneer academy family two years ago as a seventh grader in the online program and quickly excelled through her classes. Now Kaitlyn is a tenth grade student at Pioneer, dual-enrolled in the online program and in-person at the Pioneer campus. A Carson City School District teacher and author has been honored with two writing awards for his novels. “The Raven and the Crow: The Gray Throne,” written by Michael K. Falciani, the pen name of Mr. Kinkade DeJoseph, a teacher at Bordewich Bray Elementary School, won Best Fantasy Novel. Three fifth graders from Fritsch Elementary School competed in the National Archery Tournament at the Mountain America Expo Center in Sandy, Utah last weekend, April 28-29, 2023. Carson City Students, Educators Open the First Day of Nevada Legislative Session

Carson City School District students and educators helped open the first day of Nevada’s 2023 State Legislative Session Monday, February 6, 2023. To begin, the Carson High School NJROTC honor guard presented the colors, prior to the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by the National Anthem, sung by Mark Twain Elementary Music Educator Christina Bourne. Carson City Fast-tracks Teaching Licensure for Individuals with Bachelors

As a result of the winter storm disrupting travel throughout the region, all Carson City School District schools will observe a delayed 2-hour schedule Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023.
