As the name implies, school advisory teams are small groups of advisors who work together to service a specific group of students. These educational teams are made up of committed experts and parents that help deliver their breadth and depth of knowledge and experience for the development of students in Carson City.

Photographers and representatives from the news media are invited Wednesday, Oct. 13, to capture images and video of teachers, students, school board trustees and local dignitaries signing a massive steel beam for a ‘Topping Out’ ceremony beginning as early as 11 a.m. at Eagle Valley Middle School, 4151 East Fifth Street, Carson City, Nevada 89701. The beam is scheduled to be set in place by 12 noon.

Students in Carson City are invited to participate in various Walk to School Day events Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021. Many parents, teachers and administrators plan to join students in organized walks to promote safely walking or bicycling to school.

We find ourselves seeking the assistance of parents, students and community members to help end the various “Challenges” being recorded and uploaded to social media sites. These viral trends have made a difficult year, even more difficult. When it comes to these destructive, indecent, inappropriate and unlawful acts, we ask for your assistance in helping us stop these school disruptions.

The Carson City School District is pleased to announce the artwork and design of three fifth grade students from Fremont and Seeliger Elementary Schools have won the “2021 State of Nevada Fire Prevention Week Poster Contest.” The Nevada Department of Public Safety, State Fire Marshal Division selected the winners this year based on the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) theme of "Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety."
