Eagle Valley Middle School (EVMS) collected the most canned goods of any school in Carson City during the 2018 Canned Food Drive for Friends in Service Helping (FISH). Close behind EVMS were Bethlehem Lutheran and Carson Middle School in second and third place respectively.

The annual charitable event, designed to fill the FISH Food Bank with products for the less fortunate, is held the last two weeks of October. One of the main goals of the food drive is to have every student bring one can of food per day throughout the event. Approximately 12,500 pounds of canned food were collected from all the schools in Carson City.

Students earning the top three spots for contributions include:

  1. Jude Lamprecht, fifth grader at Bethlehem Lutheran
  2. Vielka Lopez Munguia, seventh grader at EVMS
  3. Hannah Bahn, second grader at Bethlehem Lutheran
