Book Seller Makes Good on Giving the Gift of Literacy

During each holiday season, Barnes & Noble stores commit to donate books through their annual Holiday Book Drive to hundreds of charities across the country to assist in giving the gift of literacy to those in need. Students Prepared for Student Walkouts

At 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, Carson High students may peacefully gather and “walkout” to the football field for a 17-minute rally in remembrance of the 17 individuals who lost their lives. During the “walkout,” those students who gather will write on a large poster: 17 plus reasons why their school should be safer. The Carson City School District (CCSD) is asking families with newborn children to age six to attend the free Early Childhood Expo this Saturday, March 3, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada, 1870 Russell Way, Carson City, Nevada 89706. The fourth annual event will showcase local resources for families. Each vendor will provide hands on activities and information.
