In another season marked by unwavering dominance, and for the second year in a row, the Carson Middle School eighth-grade boys basketball team finished the season undefeated. They cemented their basketball legacy when they beat Alder Creek from Truckee in the championship game of the Tah-Neva District Basketball Tournament in South Lake Tahoe Saturday night.

The same group of boys finished in a similar manner last year as seventh-graders. The team has never lost a game and remains 36 and 0.

The team included alphabetically by last name: Suleiman Abdelhaby, No. 50; Gabe Borst, No. 33; Paxton Good, No. 41; Chance Handelin, No. 43; Everett Hogan, No. 44; Matthew Jadidi, No. 23; Lucas Lafollette, No. 32; Asher Myler, No. 31; Donavan Nichols, No. 3; Noah Ramirez, No. 51; Tre’von Reddick, No. 1; Landon Stokes-Castro, No. 22 and Gabe White, No. 30. The team was led by Head Coach Doug Whisler, and his two Assistant Coaches John Paulson and Ron Tamori.

Additionally, the Carson Middle School seventh grade team placed second overall in their bracket of the Tah-Neva District Basketball Tournament. After breaking out to an early lead in the semi-final game, the seventh-grade team was able to hold off undefeated Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School. The Solons finished as runner-ups after being downed by the Timberwolves of South Tahoe Middle School.

The team included alphabetically by last name: Miles Armstrong, No. 4; Hank Brown, No. 40; Kolbe Clapham, No. 30; Will Cooper, No. 5; Levi Davis, No. 45; Jayson De laCruz, No. 32; Ronnie Ghostbear, No. 23; Teddy Hohl, No. 10; Bobby McFadden, No. 14; Sam Papez, No. 25; Brody Priess, No. 15; Jayson Ramirez, No. 32; Ty Reddick, No. 1; Finn Russell, No. 21; Damon Shelton, No. 3; Kaysen Smith, No. 31; Lucas Stokes-Castro No. 11 and Gabe Truiczek, No. 35. The team was led by Head Coach Johnny Olivas and his Assistant Coach Les Reddick.

Back in October, the Carson Middle School eighth grade girls basketball team also celebrated another undefeated season and overall Tah-Neva Champions.
