Carson High School is set to host two admission-free music events that will not only ‘B Sharp’ but also showcase student talent and refined skill. “Music programs within the Carson City School District carry a time-honored tradition, and Band-O-Rama and Choirpalooza are the pinnacle of effort and training our students have invested throughout the school year” said Kelly Ehrenfeuchter, music director at Empire Elementary School.

Photographers and representatives from the news media are invited next Wednesday, March 20, to various Nevada Moves Day events. Schoolchildren joined by parents, teachers and administrators will take part in organized walks to promote walking or bicycling to school.

Backpacks for Homeless Students

In a collaborative effort with the Carson City School District, the Nevada Department of Education will divide and pack more than 600 backpacks and books for the education of homeless children and youth across Nevada. The backpacks will be filled with school supplies and hygiene items, 3-ring binders and an assortment of books (4 different titles).

CHS Teacher Chosen as 2019 ACT K-12 Champion

The ACT College and Career Readiness Campaign has chosen Carson High School Health Teacher Erin Been as its 2019 ACT K-12 Champion for Nevada in recognition of her work to enhance student performance on the ACT. She represents the Northwest Division which includes Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.

06-15-17 Pedaling Books During Summer School
The Carson City Library’s Pedal Library will be busy delivering books to students attending summer school. Now through the end of June, the teardrop trailer pulled behind a bike will provide up to 60 pounds of books at each elementary school within the Carson City School District. The mobile library will be offering mobile wifi and charging station soon.
