Skylar (Sophia) Crittendon is an amazing student at Carson High School. She is both academically and artistically gifted. Skylar currently has a 4.2 GPA and has taken Honors, AP and Jump Start classes. As an artist, she enjoys drawing and painting using acrylics. Neo-realism is her favorite painting style, and she draws or paints every day.

Carson High Announces 2023 Winterfest Candidates and Activities

Winterfest celebrations kicked off this afternoon with an assembly, and Carson High School was pleased to announce the student-elected candidates. The week-long events beginning Monday, Jan. 30 through Saturday, Feb. 4, will feature day and evening activities the whole school may enjoy including dress-up days, movie nights, games, talent shows, karaoke, music and more.

A dozen 5- and 6-year-olds from Ms. Sewell’s kindergarten class from Carson City’s Seeliger Elementary School had an opportunity to show their pride, patriotism and love for their state and country by leading and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance prior to Nevada’s new Governor Joe Lombardo’s State of the State Address Monday, Jan. 23, 2023.

Three Carson City Students Punch Their Way to the Top

A sixth grader from Carson Middle School (CMS) and a pair of Carson High School (CHS) sophomore boxing athletes have punched their way to the top, winning both state (in Las Vegas, Nov. 19, 2022) and regional championships (in Compton, Calif., Jan. 6-8, 2023) and are now gearing up to compete at the national level at the Silver Gloves National Finals, hosted in Independence, Mo. Feb. 9-11, 2023.

06-15-17 Pedaling Books During Summer School
The Carson City Library’s Pedal Library will be busy delivering books to students attending summer school. Now through the end of June, the teardrop trailer pulled behind a bike will provide up to 60 pounds of books at each elementary school within the Carson City School District. The mobile library will be offering mobile wifi and charging station soon.
