With the start of a new semester, the Carson City Schools FOUNDATION (CCSF) has created a new video that demonstrates how money donated to the organization is used to benefit education. To view the video, please click here.

As part of a department or grade-level grant, the foundation awarded Adrienne Wiggins and fourth graders at Empire Elementary School cow eye dissection kits for STEM. Because of the expense of the dissection kits, the foundation’s financial assistance helped provide an enriching science lesson that otherwise would not be made possible.

Individuals and local businesses or organizations are able to support the foundation and other similar education programs and activities in the Carson City School District by setting up a recurring monthly donation. Many school district employees already support the CCSF with an ongoing contribution via Payroll Deduction. Individuals and organizations are also able to make a one-time donation using a credit card. To make a one-time donation, or for more information, please visit ccschoolsfoundation.org/campaigns/donations/.

District employees interested in making a payroll donation should obtain a Payroll Deduction Form from their site office manager. Ending the deduction can be done at any time by contacting the Carson City School District Payroll Department. If every district employee contributed just $1 per pay period, the district could raise more than $23,000 per year.

Each semester, the foundation gives back to educators and students alike in Carson City. The foundation regularly awards $200 mini-grants as well as up to $2,000 grants for department, school or grade-level projects.

CCSF is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting community involvement and investment in the public schools of Carson City. This project is one of the many results of the “Empower Carson City 2022″ Strategic Plan – a five-year strategic plan for extraordinary schools built by the community of Carson City.

CCSF was created to increase student achievement through philanthropic investment and involvement. Established by the Carson City School District’s Board of Trustees, the foundation promotes education programs that traditional funding sources may not be able to reach.
