- Provide all teaching staff with sufficient theory, knowledge and practical classroom application based on current, researched-based best practices (High Quality Sheltered Instruction (HQSI)/Sheltered Instruction Protocol (SIOP) to meet the academic needs of English Language Learners (ELLs).
- Provide liaisons between parents of ELLs and the school system including individual school sites.
- Implement and monitor district-wide ESL curriculum based on ESL national and state standards.
- Identify students in the ELL subpopulation that need continuing academic and home support to pass proficiency assessments and required credit attainment for high school graduation.
- Provide parent education courses and workshops for families with English Language Learners.
- Identify, monitor, and promote freshmen to senior high school completion and graduation.
- Maintain a consistent, district-wide record-keeping system that conforms to state and federal reporting standards.
- Implement and support equitable teacher/student ratios for in-program and exited program ELLs.
