• Implement basic skill development programs for elementary, middle and high school in math, reading, science and social studies. 

• Monitor and adjust curriculum maps yearly in all areas to ensure alignment with District and State Standards.

• K-5 Elementary Math Material Review (Textbook Adoption) will begin in fall 2006. Selection, State Board approval and materials purchase will occur prior to July, 2007.  Secondary Math Material Review and adoption will take place during 2007-08.

Coordinate professional development efforts District - wide

Objectives

• Focus professional development offerings to meet staff development needs to improve content knowledge, methods and management, technology and standards-based instruction.

• Offer in-service support to all schools for the implementation of strategies and programs which are included in School Improvement Plans.

• Support monthly 'early release' professional development days at all sites

Expand the utilization of test data

Objectives

• Review and evaluate the benefits of Achievement Level Tests.

• Analyze test data and use it to improve instructional focus.

• Evaluate data generated by the State mandated Criterion Reference Tests in relation to the District Achievement Levels Tests in grades 3 through 8.
