The High School Preparation Program (HSP2) is a special program for all students in need of extra assistance.
          It is a before and after school study program that began September 28,2009. Any student needing help in any of the core subjects, English,
Math, Science, or Social Studies, or help with homework, are encouraged to attend. Students who
are credit deficient for promotion to high school may receive credit for attending the program. In order to be eligible
for summer school in June 2010, students must sucessfully participate in this progam.


Homework/Tutoring Assistance
Monday-Friday 7:00-7:48 a.m and Monday-Thursday 2:30-4:30 p.m

A structured atmosphere will be provided for students to complete homework and receive assistance when needed. Students may
also bring passes from their day school teachers to go to those classrooms to complete work or get additional assistance from
the classroom teacher. Students may attend this program as often as needed, but MUST attend a minimum of 2 days per week.




English/Language Arts
Monday-Thursday 2:30-3:30 p.m

                 Students enrolled in this class must attend every day. Students will receive additional instruction in English/Language Arts 
and receive assistance with day school assignments. Students needing an English credit may receive credit by attending this class.







Math
Monday-Thursday 2:30-3:30 p.m

Students enrolled in this class must attend every day. Students will receive additional instruction in math and receive assistance with
day school assignments. Students needing a math credit may receive credit by attending this class.




Enrichment Programs

A variety of academic/athletic/artistic based enrichment activities will be available Monday through Thursday from 3:30-4:30 pm
Students must attend and successfully participate in one of the previously mentioned classes to be eligible to attend an enrichment
program. Snacks will be provided immediately following the regular school day for those students enrolled in afternoon classes.
Transportation will be provided with a late bus at 3:30 p.m. and another bus at 4:30 p.m. Centrally located bus stops will be
established by the Transportation Department to serve the students participating in HSPP.
Transportation to Boys and Girls Club will be provided to all HSP2 students.









If your child is needing assistance with homework, needs extra help in a core subject area, is in danger of failing a class, or is credit
deficient they should attend this program. Please contact Carson Middle School guidance department
at 283-2808 for additional information and/or sign up applications.
