D.C. Trip



                        Mr. Schultz will be leading a group of Carson and Eagle Valley Middle School students on a program to Washington D.C. This is a program                         to discover American history in an interactive and fun way.

                        HIGHLIGHTS:
                        Traveling with classmates and life long memories are only part of the fun awaiting us on this program. We will explore major historical                         landmarks, such as the U.S. Capitol, the Washington Monument, the Statue of Liberty, and Ellis Island. We will also reflect on the achievments                         of great Americans at the Jefferson, Lincoln and FDR Memorials, honor our nation's heroes at the Vietnam Veterans' Memorial, World War II                         Memorial, and Arlington National Cemetery, and celebrate our heritage, culture, and diversity in the Big Apple.

                       PRICING AND PAYMENT:
                       Prices are based on 35 full-paying participants and include a $99 deposit(of which $99 is non-refundable).
                       Student:
                            - $2,397 quad occupancy which includes an additional $50 discount for registering before 10/09/2009; thereafter price is $2,447 quad                          occupancy.
                       Adult:
                           -$2,764 double occupancy which includes an additional $50 discount for registering before 10/09/2009; thereafter price is $2,814 double                          occupancy.
                         Payments:
                          -Pay-in-full within 30 days of registration or spread out your balance in regular partial payments (installment plan is established by                                                 WorldStrides, based on your registration date, and the balance must be paid in full by 01/20/2010).
                        Full Refund Program:

Veteran's Day





                        Students will create a veteran or research placard for the CMS STAKEOUT. Each student will interview (or research) a veteran who has                         served in the Armed Forces. Students will assemble information for a placard honoring the veteran's service to our country. All of the placards                         will be on display on the front lawn of Carson Middle School form Monday, November 9 - Thursday, November 12, 2009. The community is                         welcome to visit the school to view the Veterans' Placards.




Penny War




             Starting March 1st-March 19th, Carson Middle School will be having a penny war. A contest between 6th, 7th, 8th grade and staff. Jugs will                           be created for all three grades. Jugs will be out before school and during first and second lunch. You put pennies in your own grade, and                           nickles, dimes and dollars in the other grades to lower their points. Pennies are positive points and other coins and dollars deduct                           points. The money earned will be donated to the leukemia and lymphoma society.




Dances





                         Carson Middle School has four dances each year. Two for the sixth graders and two for the 7th and 8th graders combined. Each dance                           has a different theme. Some of the dance rules include no dirty dancing, there must be space between partners and no conga lines.                           The last sixth grade dance will be some time in May (date to be determined) the theme will be western. The last seventh and eight grade                           dance will be in February (date to be determined) and the theme will be black and white.
